The Cartier Tank Basculante Ref. 2522 is a distinctive interpretation of the iconic Tank, combining Cartier's instantly recognisable rectangular case design with an ingenious reversible case mechanism. The case can be pivoted within its outer frame, allowing the watch to be reversed on the wrist.
This large / XL-sized example dates to circa 2002 and is crafted in stainless steel, measuring approximately 40mm x 26mm. The watch features a classic white/silvered dial with Cartier's signature Roman numeral layout, complemented by blued-style hands and a subsidiary seconds dial positioned at 3 o'clock. A date aperture is positioned at 6 o'clock, adding practical functionality while retaining the elegant proportions of the Tank design.
The crown is discreetly positioned at 12 o'clock alongside Cartier's signature cabochon detail, maintaining the clean lines of the rectangular case.
